| Where does Vamoose Bus travel? We provide daily bus transportation between New York City, NY, & Bethesda, MD/Arlington, VA (Rosslyn). What is the duration of the trip? The average trip duration is 4 to 4 and a half hours, depending on the traffic and weather condition. Where are the bus stops located? Click here for our pick-up and drop-off locations. Is a reservation required? A reservation is required to secure a seat on the bus and it will only be honored if the passenger arrives at the bus on time. A reservation is good only for the schedule reserved for. Passengers without reservation for that schedule can travel on a stand-by basis only. When do I have to arrive at the bus? Passengers must arrive at the bus at least 15 minutes before departure. Reservations are not guaranteed beyond that time and seats may be offered to standby passengers Do I have to make a reservation if I have a paid ticket or using Promotional Coupons? Yes. A reservation is always required, regardless of the method of payment. Back to top If I reserved a seat through Ivy-Media or Go To Bus, do I still have to make a reservation with Vamoose Bus? No. Vamoose Bus will accept reservations made through these companies. The reservation has to be made for a Vamoose Bus schedule. Back to top Do I have to pay at the time of the reservation? Advance reservations are required to secure a seat but payment is only required when boarding the bus. Walk-ups are accepted on a stand-by basis at $25 for a one-way at all locations. Back to top How much is the fare? The charge is $25 each way between NY & Bethesda/Arlington. 4 Promotion Coupons can be used in lieu of payment. Back to top What method of payment can I use when paying for my trip? We accept cash or personal checks. Back to top Do you offer a discount for children or seniors? Children under 2 ride for free but cannot occupy a seat if that bus is fully booked. No other discounts are offered. Back to top How do I cancel or modify my reservation? Canceling and modifying reservations can be done online by clicking here or by emailing us. Please note: Modifications to reservations cannot be done on the day of travel. Please call our office (877-393-2828) or email us if you wish to cancel/change a reservation on the date of travel. Back to top Is there assigned seating on Vamoose buses? No. Seating is on a 1st come, 1st - served basis. Back to top Can I request seating in the front of the bus? The front bus seats located in the first row directly behind and across from the driver are designated as priority seating to accomodate passengers with disabilies or other special needs. If these seats are occupied, the driver may ask the seated customer to move. If the person occupying the seat refuses, he/she cannot be forced to do so. You may sit in the next available seat and move to the designated seats if they become available. What is your policy on luggage? A maximum of three pieces of luggage may be stowed in the trunk compartment of the bus. The weight of each piece may not exceed 50 pounds. Vamoose takes no responsibility for lost, damaged, or stolen property. One small carry-on is allowed if it fits under the seat or in the overhead bin on the bus. Back to top Is smoking or alcoholic beverages allowed on the bus? How about snacks and other beverages? In order for us to secure the health and safety of our passengers and drivers, smoking and drinking of alcoholic beverages is not allowed on any of our buses. Passengers may transport unopened alcoholic beverages in their luggage for use at their destination. Non-alcoholic beverages and snacks are ok as long as it does not annoy the other passengers and the bus is kept clean. Back to top Does Vamoose Bus provide seating for disabled passengers? We provide priority seating to disabled or elderly passengers. If a wheelchair lift is needed, we will provide such bus upon request. Request needs to be made 48 hours before travel. This advance notice is in accordance with federal guidelines and allows us to make the necessary arrangements to provide requested assistance. Back to top Do you allow service animals on the bus? Service animals such as seeing-eye dogs are welcome. The service animal is the responsibility of its owner and must be under the control of its owner at all times (i.e., leash, harness or carrier). Service animals must ride in the bus within the customer's space and may not travel in the aisle or occupy a seat. Vamoose reserves the right to refuse passage to any animal that poses a direct threat to the health and safety of other customers or personnel. Back to top Do you allow pet animals on the bus? The bus company we contract with does not allow pet animals on their buses due to a restriction from their insurance company. Back to top What is your policy on the use of cell phones? Passengers need to be considerate of their fellow passengers when using cell phones during the trip. Conversations need to be kept short and in a low tone of voice.
